The Housing Affordably Act – Notes

In the first paragraph, the author Shadda Nasralla dives right into the topic by addressing information derived from different sources which were all quoted. She presents the information she gained from authors. She gives a lot of information all from outside sources and doesn’t necessarily include any sort of argument or commentary. Rather she dedicates the first two paragraphs to addressing information regarding a topic which is clear but not necessarily direct, since the overlying topic is easy to identify, yet her argument is not. By this I mean that you can see the general discussion, yet you cannot see if the author is trying to address Orange County, or whether she is addressing the economy, or whether she is addressing the government’s lack of help, or something else. This introduction is well structured in that it presents a strong sense of credibility, yet it is not as clear to see where everything is heading.
